Help - Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I Submit My Article, Story or Video ?
Submitting an article or story is a simple process. All you have to do is click on the "Submit Article" tab and you will be taken to a
screen where you will be asked to enter the information about the content you are submitting. Simply add the URL to your desired content
and our "Content Rover" will check to see if it has been previously submitted. If it is "fresh content", you will need to add a short description
(or blurb) about your submission and add some tags for search, and you're done.
Can I Submit My Own Articles or Blog Posts?
Yes, Yes, Yes !!! Unlike other Social News websites, Recommend Us encourages you to submit your own blog posts or articles. We
empathize with the independent publisher and welcome anybody to submit their works to our site. We do recommend that you adhere to common sense and our Prohibited Content rules. See below for
our rules regarding Prohibited Content on Recommend Us.
What are Tags ?
Tags are a convenient way for people recommending an article to label their submission with keywords that will be utilized when other
members search Recd.us for content. Tags are important to your submission being found by other members who are interested in your submissions.
Tagging a submission with inappropriate keywords can be detrimental to your submission because our "Content Rover" will remove any/all tags that
are not found in the body or title of the submission resulting in a submission that is un-searchable by other members thus reducing exposure.
Why is "Recommend Us" (recd.us) Different From Other Social Networks ?
Recommend Us is truly for the individual publisher or blogger who works hard to deliver original content. While other "Social News" sources
might claim to be delivering content from the biggest to the smallest of sources, the truth is that they frown upon individuals submitting their
own articles and some sites such as Digg.com will even ban members for submitting their own articles. At Recd.us, we understand that it's nearly impossibe for
independent publishers to get readers to recommend a story if there is nothing in it for them. That basic principle of human nature is what creates a market
for "paid submitters and voters" on sites such as Digg.com but at Recommend Us, we encourage you to submit your articles. We know how hard you work on creating content and
we know the frustration of competing with the major news sources, but everybody has to start somewhere and that is the fundamental ethic driving us to create
a truly unique social network as opposed to creating a network dominated by cliques.
